GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
The Area is surrounded by myriad tourist attractions and located in a forest zone. It is going to be rainy around this period of the year and volunteers are asked to bring along boots and raincoats.
The highest mountain in Ghana is found in the Volta Region. One can also find wonderful water falls including the famous Wli waterfall and a monkey sanctuary.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Volunteers will be joined by the local community to construct new trails and clear the already existing trails that led to the tourist site. Work will involve clearing of weed.
Volunteers will need to use cutlasses and other implement to construct a path. FACILITIES
Accommodation : Volunteers will sleep in homes
Lighting
: Lanterns (Bring along Torch Lights)
Water
: Bore holes.
There will however be sachet water available for dinking
DIRECTION
All foreign volunteers will be picked from the KOTOKA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT by accredited persons and sent to the VOLU Hostel. Briefing of volunteers takes place on a day before their departure to the camps. All monies are paid at the secretariat only and not to any person anywhere.
