GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
The camp area is geographically located in the middle belt of Ghana, which is a forest zone. It is going to be rainy around this period
Kasapee is noted for cocoa cultivation. Brong Ahafo is already described in camp # 01 can boast of monkey sanctuary and water falls.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Volunteers will be joined by the local community to construct a Kindergarten block. Work will involve mixing of concrete, molding of blocks laying blocks, erection of walls etc. Volunteers with some professional background in construction/building are encouraged to volunteer.
FACILITIES
Accommodation : Volunteers will sleep in homes
Lighting
: Lantern
Water
: Bore holes.
There will however be sachet water available for dinking
DIRECTION
All foreign volunteers will be picked from the KOTOKA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT by accredited persons and sent to the VOLU Hostel. Briefing of volunteers takes place on a day before their departure to the camps. All monies are paid at the secretariat only and not to any person anywhere. |
NB
1. Participation fee is 200
Euros for one camp and 300 Euros
for two (2) camps.
2. All foreign volunteers should report at the VOLU
Secretariat for payment of participation fee and direction
to camp site.
Inform us of your arrival date, time and flight number
to enable us pick you up from the airport.
3. Please, arrange for VISA from
your country before you enter Ghana.
4. Volunteers should please come through partner organizations. |
